- Fishing cooperative upgrading safety equipment on multi-day fishing boats
Overview
A fishing cooperative representing several dozen multi-day boats needed compact inflatable liferafts suitable for fishing vessels to meet updated safety requirements.
Challenge
Boats are small, deck space is limited, and crews have little training. The rafts had to be light, easy to launch, and supplied with simple pictorial instructions and a maintenance plan.
Solution
| Item | Model | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Fishing self-righting liferaft | HSR-YSR series, 6–10 persons | 40 |
| Throw-overboard liferaft | YT series, 4–8 persons | 20 |
| Accessories | Deck cradles, painter lines, storage covers | 60 sets |
Scope of supply
Capacity selection by boat crew size, manufacturer certificates, cradle and mounting hardware, container shipment to Colombo, and a laminated launching-instruction card for each boat.
Outcome
Sixty boats were equipped ahead of the monsoon season. The cooperative has asked MARS to quote lifejackets and EPIRB brackets for the next phase.
Customer names are withheld; the case describes a typical supply scope built from products in the MARS catalogue.
