Overview
A ship-management company scheduled the renewal of liferafts across ten vessels during their dry-dock cycle and asked MARS to supply SOLAS-approved throw-overboard and davit-launched rafts with the required certificates.
Challenge
Each vessel carried a different mix of capacities and launching arrangements, and rafts had to be delivered to dry-docks in three countries with valid certificates and hydrostatic release units so they could be installed and inspected without delay.
Solution
| Item | Model | Qty |
|---|---|---|
| Throw-overboard liferaft | ATOB series, 16–25 persons, SOLAS A pack | 22 |
| Davit-launched liferaft | ADL series, 20–25 persons, SOLAS A pack | 8 |
| Self-righting liferaft | ASR series, 25 persons | 4 |
| Release equipment | Hydrostatic release units, cradles, painter lines | 34 sets |
Scope of supply
Per-vessel raft schedule, factory certificates (CCS / EC / RS as applicable), FRP container packing, delivery to dry-docks in Greece, Turkey, and China, and a fleet certificate register in spreadsheet format.
Outcome
All ten vessels completed dry-dock with new lifesaving equipment installed and certificates in order. The customer has scheduled the next renewal cycle with MARS.
Customer names are withheld; the case describes a typical supply scope built from products in the MARS catalogue.
